With the departure of the last orphan, both the function and the historical interior of the centuries-old orphanage vanished. Hendrick de Keyser has restored the complex in phases over the past years, making it more sustainable and returning its history as much as possible.
Restoration
The exterior (facades, frames, and roofs) has been fully restored. Inside, the construction and layout have been renewed, with references to the historical interior. Additionally, there has been a strong emphasis on sustainability: the outer walls have been insulated, monument glass has been installed, and interior walls are made using timber frame construction. All units are equipped with modern installations such as underfloor heating, new kitchen, bathroom, and toilet, six solar panels, WTW ventilation, and a heat pump. Thanks to these measures, the homes and the commercial space are completely gas-free and have at least an energy label of A+.
Location:
Lindenhof is located in the historical heart of Schiedam, within walking distance of public transport, the NS station, various shops, and entertainment venues. Paid parking applies in the immediate vicinity. A parking permit can be requested from the municipality.

Entrance at Lange Achterweg 44:
Entrance, hall, spacious commercial space with the designations “studio” and “service (personal/business)” and is therefore very suitable for use as an office or studio.
Living room with kitchen.
1st floor:
Landing, bedroom, bathroom equipped with a second toilet, shower, and sink, installation room.
The space also has a second access via a shared vestibule of the Lindenhof.
This commercial space has its own outdoor storage (approximately 2.7 m²) located on the ground floor in an outbuilding of the complex. Here, you will also find the communal bike storage of approximately 39.7 m².
Outdoor space:
Tenants at Lindenhof can use the closed inner garden as a communal outdoor space. This covers approximately 1,800 m².
A monthly advance of € 60,- in service costs will be charged. This covers the energy supply for the common areas, maintenance of the communal green spaces, window cleaning, and cleaning of the common areas.
