Safe and fair renting with Studently – What do we expect from our community?

Studently is built on trust. To create a safe environment for students and landlords, it is important that everyone takes responsibility for their behaviour on the platform.

These guidelines help to prevent misunderstandings, fraud and disputes.

🎓 For students

As a student, we ask you to:

  • Eerlijke en correcte persoonlijke informatie te verstrekken

  • Only respond to properties you are genuinely interested in

  • To communicate in a professional and respectful manner

  • Do not use false documents or statements

Clear and professional communication increases your chances of a positive response.

🏢 For landlords

As a landlord, we expect you to:

  • Transparent rental prices are listed

  • Correcte en actuele informatie publiceert

  • No hidden costs

  • Responds promptly to requests

Clarity and honesty build trust.

💬 Professional communication

Studently is a professional platform. That is why we expect:

  • No offensive or discriminatory language

  • No aggressive behaviour

  • No pressure to pay outside the platform

All users are required to communicate respectfully.

💳 Transparency regarding payments

Students pay an application fee via Studently in order to apply for a property.

You are not permitted to:

  • To charge additional application fees outside the platform

  • Requiring payment before signing a tenancy agreement

  • To charge unnecessary administrative fees

If in doubt, we always recommend that you report it.

🚨 Preventing fraud

Look out for signs such as:

  • Unrealistically low rents

  • Requests for money via foreign bank accounts

  • No viewings available

Studently investigates reports thoroughly and may suspend accounts in the event of misuse.

⚖️ Conflicts

Studently facilitates contact, but is not a party to the tenancy agreement. Any disputes between the student and the landlord must be resolved between them or through legal channels.

However, we may take action against users in the event of serious breaches.
